Due to its outstanding safety record, Holland Construction Services (Holland) was recently presented with the Associated General Contractors (AGC) Annual Safety Award. The award was presented on February 25th at the Southern Illinois Builders Association’s Annual Awards Banquet. Holland’s Safety & Health Director, Doug Devlin, who accepted the award on behalf of Holland, said the company takes safety very seriously citing Holland’s record of zero OSHA recordable incidents and zero lost time cases in over 7 years.

Devlin said Holland maintains safety as the highest priority for every job. Holland’s safety program consists of several facets to ensure that all company and site employees are active participants in a functional and successful safety culture that goes above and beyond OSHA standards.

Holland’s project superintendents each hold a 30-hour OSHA certification card, representing in-depth training by OSHA-designated instructors. Superintendents are responsible for the overall safety of job sites, incorporating multiple safety standards above and beyond OSHA’s minimum requirements, for all individuals on the job site.

In addition to the AGC Safety Award, Holland has been awarded other safety-related designations over the past seven years by both the Southern Illinois Builders Association and Bituminous Insurance.
