Virginia School Exterior Gymnasium Classroom

Holland served as construction manager on this $11.6 million project.

The project involved demolition of a portion of the original school building built in 1912 and 1937; construction of a new 53,000 square-foot one-story brick and steel addition; and renovations to the remaining 1971 school. The new addition houses 20 classrooms, admin space, a multi-purpose gymnasium, computer and science labs, and a library/media center. The addition also included a new entrance for both the elementary and junior/senior high school students and expansion of the cafeteria. Renovations to the existing school included a new heating and air conditioning system, upgraded electrical service, new lighting, and a new sprinkler system. Renovations were also completed on the parking lot, sidewalks, and playground.

“This is my second project with Holland Construction, and I certainly hope it is not the last. The connections, friendships, and quality of the people I worked with is second to none. They treat every project as if it is their own. They do not settle for a second tier product. It is the best or bust. If given the option, I will always work with Holland Construction.”
