Holland Construction Services served as construction manager for this $17 million addition which was built adjacent to the existing high school and was completed while the school remained operational.
The 54,000 square-foot facility replaced two buildings that previously housed 470 students in pre-kindergarten and grades 9 through 12. The new facility includes a two-story classroom wing that can accommodate an additional 80 students in grades 9 through 12. The new classrooms are larger and feature “smart boards” as well as electrical outlets and USB ports for each student’s assigned laptop computer. The school includes science rooms with a lab and preparation room, art classrooms, home economics and food lab, computer and tech labs, a pre-kindergarten classroom, media center, auxiliary gymnasium and locker rooms, general education classrooms, special education classrooms and a multi-use cafetorium that combines the functions of gym, auditorium and cafeteria. In addition, the existing gymnasium was renovated and incorporated into the design.
