Work is completed on the new $17 million Fairview Heights Recreational Complex dubbed The REC located at 10025 Bunkum Road. The 30-acre site is the former location of Our Lady of Assumption Church at Bunkum Road and Interstate 64 on the city’s west side. Opening day is May 6.

Holland Construction Services racked up about $150 million in projects last year with a focus on multifamily, senior living, K-12 education and medical services. For 2019, the company wants to continue to expand on its multi-family work while focusing more attention on warehouse/distribution clients, according to Scott Schanuel, senior director of business development.

For Holland Construction Services, 2017 was a year of building momentum. The firm doubled its revenue in just three years from 2014 to 2016, reaching nearly $180 million in construction revenue. In 2017, it sustained that impressive level in construction volume. According to President Mike Marchal, 2018 is stacking up to be another record year. “We have a very healthy backlog of projects and the most effective team I’ve ever seen,” he says.
