Holland provided construction management services for this new 87,000 square-foot meat slicing and packaging facility for Volpi Foods.
The facility has approximately 7,000 square feet of office and administrative areas and approximately 58,000 square feet of production area, 20% of which is refrigerated. The building also features a 22,000 square-foot mezzanine for mechanical/electrical rooms, locker rooms, and a conference room.
Building construction consisted of tilt-up concrete exterior walls with interior structural steel framing and metal deck. Membrane roofing and architectural metal panels were used for the building exterior finish.
Production areas have sanitary finishes including insulated metal panel partition walls and ceilings, sanitary curbs, epoxy flooring, and stainless steel accessories (doors, bollards, etc.). The production area consists of both cold storage and freezer storage areas with insulated floors. Office/admin. area features typical finishes for an office building with painted drywall, ACT, VCT, and ceramic tile.
The two-story plant connects to Volpi’s current prosciutto processing plant.
