Ribbon Cutting 1200x600The new Flora Elementary School officially opened August 19th with a ceremonial ribbon cutting.

Holland Construction Services (Holland) served as construction manager on the new 126,000 square-foot Pre-K through fifth grade facility. The school consists of 38 classrooms, a gymnasium, stage, multi-purpose room, library, computer lab, and cafeteria. The floor plan also includes administration offices and a conference room.  The main hallway of the school is designed to look like an actual Main Street. Four large skylights in the ceiling bring in natural light along the walkway.

“Every member of the Holland team was outstanding,” said Joel Hackney, Superintendent of Flora Community Unit School District #35. “I was able to have constant communication with the team about the schedule and progress. They did a fantastic job and I would highly recommend Holland to anyone that has a building project!”

EWR Associates, Inc. served as the architect on the project.
