SOUTHERN ILLINOIS MINERS STADIUM $19 million baseball stadium for the Southern Illinois Miners, members of the Frontier League. The ballpark breathes new life into former coal mining land and opened in May 2007, seating more than 5,000 fans and serving as a catalyst for area economic development. The stadium is being constructed with fans in mind - with multiple viewing angles, refreshment areas, comfortable covered seating sections and various outdoor playground and picnicking spots. "Our experience working with Holland has been outstanding across the organization, from the guys on site to the people supporting them back in the main office," said Mike Thiessen, spokesperson for the Miners. "We are glad to have them as part of our team and look to work with them again in the future."
