Holland Construction Building New Prairie State Headquarters

MARISSA, ILL. – Plans are in motion for Holland Construction Services, Inc. to break ground in May on a new corporate headquarters office building for Prairie State Generating Company, LLC in Marissa.

The new 20,600-square-feet structure will provide a permanent home for the company’s corporate offices, replacing the temporary accommodations currently on the site.

The new headquarters will consist of a pre-engineered metal building with stone and brick veneer, topped with a standing seam metal roof. It will feature a walkout basement and shower, locker and workout space in the lower level for employee convenience. The project also includes a new parking lot and access to the nearby county highway. Completion is scheduled for December 2010.

The Prairie State Energy Campus is located in Washington County, Ill. When complete, it will deploy the latest 21st century environmental technologies to produce enough electricity to serve about 2.5 million families across nine states in an efficient and environmentally friendly manner. The campus includes a 1600-megawatt plant and adjacent coalmine, and is 95 percent owned by eight public power companies.
