Holland Construction Building New Coordinated Youth Services Facility in River's Edge

July 3, 2007

GRANITE CITY - Coordinated Youth and Human Services' new building is currently under construction by Holland Construction Services, Inc. in the Tri City Regional Port District's River's Edge business park in Granite City.

As the first facility owned by the organization, it replaces previously leased space. Cindy Gavilsky, executive director of CYHS, said that the hard work and diligence of the board of directors has made a dream become a reality, and it has been a thrill to work with Holland Construction on this important project.

"Holland is a great company, and the entire staff has been very accommodating and easy to work with," Gavilsky said. "We're very excited that we will have a brand new facility to move into."

The $2.2 million, 20,000-square-foot building will house 12 new classrooms and a gymnasium for the approximate 200 students who attend educational programming classes any given time.

CYHS has been providing services for at-risk population since 1946.
