Holland Construction Services Completes New Swansea Fire Station

January 19, 2006

SWANSEA, IL - The Village of Swansea has a new fire station, completed in October by Holland Construction Services (HCS). Funded through a voter-approved $3 million bond issue, the 15,600-square-foot facility features four apparatus bays, a communications center, offices for the fire and police departments and a day room, as well as modern meeting and training rooms.

Fire Chief John McGuire said the project went very well from ground breaking to the day they moved in - and beyond. "Even after the project was completed, Holland has been very responsive to any questions we have," McGuire said. "This new facility gives us the space to grow, and the new central location has increased our response time to better serve the community."

With HCS based in Swansea, company president Bruce Holland was excited to be involved in the new station. "We always enjoy working with Swansea's public officials," Holland said. "The fire station was no exception. The Chief and everyone involved helped the project come to completion in an efficient and timely manner."
