Holland Construction Services Begins St. John's United Methodist Church Phase II Addition

October 17, 2006

EDWARDSVILLE, IL - Holland Construction Services began construction of the Phase II addition of St. John's United Methodist Church this month.

The $1.2 million structural steel and brick veneer building will include 9,300 square feet of space encompassing a ministry center with overhead projection screens and acoustical panels; classrooms and an audio visual room.

"We chose Holland because of its strong background in the construction of religious facilities," said Leesa Zick, chair of the St. John's Methodist Church building committee. "The church is very excited to be working with Holland on the second phase of construction and is looking forward to its completion."

HCS completed the $1.7 million, 23,000-square-foot Phase I addition at St. John's in the spring, providing an attached kitchen and choir wing, office space, classrooms, a library and fellowship area.

"We have a beautiful new facility that was on time and under budget," Zick added. "You can't ask for much more than that."

Architectural services were provided by Karasek Architects of St. Louis.
