Holland Construction Services Breaking Ground on new Mungenast Building

ALTON - Holland Construction Services is breaking ground Wednesday, Nov. 1 on the construction of a new building for Dave Mungenast Alton Toyota-Dodge.
The 26,000-square-foot structure was prompted by Mungenast's consistent growth, along with the addition of the Scion vehicle franchise, the first of its kind in the area. The Scion and Toyota lines will be housed in the new building, and the existing dealership will be updated and remain in use as the company's Dodge franchise.
The over $4 million project will include a glass front, seven-car showroom, service department, parts boutique and a Toyota rental car department.
A lounge area with coffee service and a large-screen television, a drive through for vehicle drop off and inclement weather, and a new car wash will provide added conveniences for customers, according to owner Kurt Mungenast.
Mungenast said the company chose Holland Construction for the project due to several factors.
"We wanted to work with Holland Construction because we've seen the quality of work the company performs and how quickly it has completed other projects in the Alton area," Mungenast said. "And we like the fact that it's based in Illinois."
An August 1, 2007 grand opening is planned. Dave Mungenast Alton Toyota-Dodge was established in Alton in 1987.
Hampton and Webb Architects Inc. of St. Louis provided architectural services for the project.
