Holland Construction Services Breaks Ground On New Schnucks Store

JENNINGS, MO - Holland Construction Services (HCS) recently broke ground on a brand-new Schnucks store as part of the redevelopment of the former Northland Shopping Center in Jennings, M0.
The $4.2 million store will comprise 63,576 square feet, reflected in a newer contemporary prototype design that will be the first of its kind in this area. It will offer customers the convenience of a drive-through pharmacy and large-scale delicatessen, bakery, fresh seafood, floral and video departments.
Based on its experience constructing several Schnucks facilities, HCS was given the opportunity to work with commercial real estate developers The Sansone Group on this newest Schnucks store.
"Working with Sansone on this particular project is very satisfying, because it's representative of the revitalization happening in the city," said HCS President Bruce Holland. "It's exciting to be a part of it."
Based in St. Louis, Schnuck Markets, Inc. opened its very first supermarket in St. Louis in 1939. It now operates 102 stores with 99 in-store pharmacies in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Tennessee, Mississippi and Iowa.
Plaza on the Boulevard is a $60 million; 500,000 square-foot development that will also feature a new Target Store, in addition to the Schnucks store - both serving as major anchors for the shopping center.
The Schnucks store is slated to open in the fall of 2006.
