Holland Construction Services Completes Gateway Center Expansion

COLLINSVILLE - Holland Construction Services has completed the 31,569-square-foot addition to Collinsville's Gateway Center ahead of schedule.
The $5.6 million improvements included an expansion to the existing building, featuring a glass rotunda - with inside additions such as more restrooms and box offices, multiple entrances, offices and storage, and an additional 10,000 square feet of multi-purpose, column-free event space.
"Working with Holland Construction Services over the past 18 months, during pre-construction and the construction phase of the newest Gateway Center addition has been a pleasure," said Cindy Warke, Gateway Center executive director. "We are all thrilled with the quality of the building and services that Holland provided."
Warke said this newest addition was critical to Gateway Center's ability to retain its growing client base and to capitalize on the large amount of business that had been lost due to lack of space at the facility.
This is the third time the Gateway Center has expanded since it opened in 1990. The multi-purpose facility now totals more than 100,000 gross square feet, and can accommodate over 2,000 people for a variety of functions.
Holland's project managers demonstrated exemplary leadership and teamwork throughout the 13-month construction period. Their comprehensive knowledge of construction brought forth numerous value-engineering recommendations and kept the project running smoothly. As a result of their input, we were able to enhance various aspects of the project without increasing the budget. It is remarkable that the convention center remained fully operational, while the building addition was under way. Representatives of Holland facilitated any questions or concerns in a prompt and courteous manner.
