Holland Construction Services Completes Rent One Park for Season Starter

MARION - This season, for the first time ever, Marion, Ill. has been the setting for Frontier League baseball. The newly formed Southern Illinois Miners have found a home in what has been christened Rent One Park, and opened to a sold out crowd on May 29.

Built by Holland Construction Services Inc. on former coal mining land, the new $19 million stadium sports a mining-themed décor to reflect the area's roots in the industry. Holding more than 5,000 fans, Rent One Park was designed in a way to provide a nice view from every seat. Refreshment areas, comfortable covered seating sections and outdoor playground and picnicking spots insure comfort and enjoyment for fans.

"The ballpark was on an aggressive schedule in order to be ready for our opening day, and Holland Construction did an outstanding job of keeping everyone on the required timeline," said Erik Haag, spokesperson for the Miners and chief operating officer of Hedgewood International, LLC. "We opened on time - without a hitch, thanks to Holland."

In addition to providing a spot for America's favorite sport in Marion, the stadium is serving as a catalyst for additional economic development, showing positive growth for the community.
