Holland Construction’s Steve Rapp Recognized at ASA’s 17th Awards Gala
ST. LOUIS, MO. - An efficient superintendent can keep a construction job sailing smoothly along from start to finish. And if the satisfaction of a completed job well done isn’t thanks enough, Holland Construction Service Inc.’s superintendent Steve Rapp received the Best General Contractor Field Employee award at the recent American Subcontractors Association-Midwest Council’s 17th Annual Awards Gala.
Rapp is a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP) who functioned as superintendent on the recently completed Dave Mungenast Lexus of St. Louis project completed by Holland Construction in December, and currently has the same responsibility as Holland builds the Behavioral Medicine Building for the U.S. Dept. of Veterans Affairs in Marion, Ill.
Nominations for employee awards are submitted anonymously along with explanations why individuals were nominated. Some of the reasons Rapp was chosen were cited as “his relentless drive to attain answers that keep the project moving forward; his knowledge of other trades work helped greatly in the overall coordination of the project and scheduling; his planning of the phases on the job and anticipation of potential problems helps maintain a stable workforce on projects; his superintendent’s knowledge, ability to coordinate and ‘level-headedness’ contribute to his success; he is a perfect example of what a customer wants, and what trades need to build a successful project.”
ASA presented various awards to general contractors and subcontractors in the St. Louis area in a number of categories. Awards for general contractors are nominated and voted on by ASA members. Subcontractors are nominated by past general contractor nominees and winners, and voted on by past general contractor winners.
Best Engineer, Best Owner and member safety awards were also given out at the event.
