Holland Construction Beginning Construction On New Life in Christ Church
O’FALLON, ILL. – Holland Construction Services will begin work in September on a new building as Phase I of an expansion project for New Life in Christ Interdenominational Church in O’Fallon, Ill., which will provide much needed space as the congregation continues to grow.
The $3 million, 8,500-square-foot pre-engineered building located at 689 Scott Troy Road will have a standing seam roof, stained concrete floors, and an exposed steel ceiling with several skylights that allow the outdoor light to flood through the space. A reflecting pool with two fountains will provide a peaceful focal point.
Bishop Geoffrey V. Dudley, Sr., Senior Pastor at New Life in Christ Church, said Holland was chosen for the project because of four “P” words - Professionalism, Proficiency, Patience and Personal touch. “Additionally, as a former District 90 board member I saw the company, Bruce Holland, and Dave Birk up close and personal, and I was extremely impressed,” Dudley added. “The Holland team has been outstanding. They have worked patiently with the church every step of the way.”
The new facility will provide a center for the rapidly growing youth ministry, and space for it to grow even more. It will house their worship, computer and coffee café, movie theatre, counseling and community building. “It will be the centerpiece of our community campus model and flagship ministry (youth, mentoring and family),” Dudley added. It will be named in honor of the late Charles and Dianne Rayford, who both loved family and generously gave for the start of New Life in Christ Church.
Phase II of the proposed expansion is planned to include a 17,645-square-foot auditorium and sanctuary that will accommodate approximately 1,000 seats. The original facility for New Life in Christ Interdenominational Church was built several years ago.
