Holland Construction Services Completes New Dave Mungenast Building

ALTON - Holland Construction Services, Inc. completed the new Dave Mungenast Alton Toyota/Scion building, now open for business.

The 28,717-square-foot structure is fulfilling the needs of the consistently growing Mungenast Toyota dealership, as well as providing space for the area's first Scion franchise. The Scion and Toyota lines will be housed in the new building, with the adjacent existing building continuing to serve as the company's Dodge franchise facility.

The $6.4 million new turnkey Toyota/Scion structure includes an impressive, towering glass front, seven-car showroom, service department, parts boutique and a Toyota rental car department.

A lounge area with coffee service and a large-screen television and children's play area; a drive through for service vehicle drop off and protection from inclement weather, and a new car wash provide added conveniences for customers. A second-floor mezzanine provides space for business offices overlooking the showroom area.

Owner Kurt Mungenast said the company chose Holland Construction for the project due to several factors.

"We've seen the quality of Holland's work and how quickly the company has completed other projects," Mungenast said. "And we like the fact that it's based in Illinois."

Dave Mungenast Alton Toyota-Dodge was established in Alton in 1987.

In 2008, Holland Construction Services will also be constructing a new Lexus facility for the area's Dave Mungenast Automotive Family at the corner of Mason and Manchester in St. Louis County.
