Holland Construction Building New Memorial Medical Office Facility

BELLEVILLE, ILL. – Holland Construction Services, Inc. will soon break ground on Medical Office Center Three, the first freestanding medical facility on the Memorial Hospital campus.

The building will encompass 85,000 square feet, offering an orthopedic and neurosciences center housing physician practices specializing in orthopedics, neurosurgery, sports medicine and pain management. It will also accommodate Memorial’s outpatient physical, occupational, hand and speech therapy services and open Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).     “The physician practices will relocate to the new facility from the two existing medical office buildings on Memorial’s campus, therefore paving the way to providing offices for physicians desiring space adjacent to Memorial Hospital,” said Anne Thomure, director of hospital and community relations and executive director of Memorial Hospital and Memorial Foundation.

Representatives from Holland Construction Services worked closely with ACI/Boland Inc. of St. Louis who provided architectural services for the project, and Memorial affiliate Southwest Illinois Health Ventures through the design and pre-construction phase of the project.  Holland assisted with material selections and cost implications in order to stay within budget and monitoring design progress and its effect on the overall schedule, identifying every scenario and providing information so clients can make informed decisions.

“Holland provided accurate cost data that assisted in continuously monitoring and refining the budget,” Thomure said. "The team worked toward a design that would meet the needs of the hospital while reflecting the high tech quality care Memorial provides.

The three-story facility will have a brick veneer exterior with limestone accents and an attractive aluminum and glass curtain wall entryway.

In 2008, Holland also completed the Memorial & St. Elizabeth’s Cancer Treatment Center expansion and renovation at 4000 Illinois Street in Swansea.

Southwest Illinois Health Ventures, Inc. is an Illinois Business Corporation, which is a subsidiary of Memorial Group, Inc. It owns and operates Medical Office Centers - One and Two on the campus of Memorial Hospital, as well as jointly owns the YMCA in O’Fallon and The Cancer Treatment Center in Swansea.
