Holland Construction Completes Horseshoe Lake Animal Hospital
COLLINSVILLE, ILL. – The ceremonial ribbon will be cut at 9 a.m., Wed., May 12 on the new Horseshoe Lake Animal Hospital at 5230 Horseshoe Lake Road, recently completed by Holland Construction Services Inc. Offering the latest and greatest in pet care, the official grand opening and public tour of the facility is planned for June.
“We like Holland Construction’s philosophy,” said Kathy Hall, project manager of the new hospital and co-owner with her husband, David. “Holland has a very good reputation for getting the job done efficiently, while at the same time maintaining the highest quality of work.”
The new hospital nearly doubles the veterinary practice’s square footage, providing space to accommodate four veterinary doctors, seven examination rooms, a euthanasia room, a two-table surgery suite with client viewing area, a dedicated dental suite, and a dedicated pharmacy and laboratory to fill prescriptions and run lab tests for inpatients and outpatients alike. Separate dog and cat wards for hospitalized pets and a divided reception area for dogs and cats add to client comfort. The Horseshoe Lake facility will also offer stem cell therapy, laser surgery, digital x-ray technology, and ultrasound.
“It’s really colorful and there’s a nice warm feeling when you walk into the building,” Hall said. “Holland did a great job and working them has been absolutely fantastic.
“They get things done; and they get them done well,” she added. “They were happy to come up with solutions and work with us on any problem that arose. The entire team wanted to make sure we were happy.”
Though the previous building served the practice well for more than three decades, Hall said the addition of more veterinarians and new services required more space. Primary goals involved improving customer service by reducing client wait time, speeding up prescription-filling time and eliminating distractions as clients are being assisted. The separated dog and cat areas will also help decrease anxiety among pets. Increased use of natural light and the attractive new building itself will improve the overall employee and client experience.
The new facility will be used for hospital and veterinarian clinic services, while the existing building (just 30 feet south of the new one) will be reborn as a facility for pet grooming and upscale boarding, featuring the ultimate in pet luxury with brightly painted walls, piped-in music and video cameras that owners can monitor from remote locations.
