Holland Construction Services Building Fox Meadows Supportive Living Facility

MCLEANSBORO, ILL. - The first supportive living facility in Hamilton County is currently under production by Holland Construction Services Inc.

Located on South Marshall Avenue in McLeansboro, Ill., just north of Hamilton Memorial Hospital, the $4 million, 30,430-square-foot facility will provide 41 studio and one-bedroom apartments for adults aged 65 and older. It will include a central full-service kitchen and dining room, and residents will have kitchenettes within individual apartments.

Randy Dauby, president of project owner Fox Meadows, said the company chose Holland Construction due to its excellent reputation and previous experience in building supportive living facilities. "We felt very comfortable in working with Holland, and the team has been very responsive to our needs," Dauby said. "Everyone is very thorough and doing an excellent job. "Heavy rains in the early part of construction caused us to lose several days, but Holland worked very hard to get the schedule back on track," he added. Dauby said the need for a supportive living facility of this magnitude was determined in 2001 by a community health mapping program, and the community is now eagerly anticipating its completion. "It was a dream that's becoming a reality, and we already have quite a few people interested," he said.

Fox Meadows is scheduled for completion in November, and Dauby said the hope is to move in its first residents between Christmas and New Year's Day. Blair Minton and Associates, Inc., a firm founded by McLeansboro native Blair Minton, will manage Fox Meadows. The architectural firm on the project is Gleason Architects, P.C. of Sugar Grove, Ill. Holland Construction has completed several supportive living facilities in various communities in and around Southern Illinois.
